DO NOT LET FEAR HIJACK YOUR IMAGINATION

11 January 2026  ·  2 min read  ·  0comments

As children, Dad would listen to late-night news on the radio. My most dreaded time at night was when he would say, “Temi, go and bring the radio.” Why was a simple task dreadful? My imagination was something else.

I would have to walk through a small corridor that is dark most of the time to get to his room. I would run through that corridor with speed. I had imagined that one ghost could just grab me, especially at the time a dear one died.

Your imagination is vital. If the enemy succeeds in hijacking your imagination, he will determine the outcome of your life.

For faith to come alive, your imagination must be full of hope. Why? Faith is the evidence of things that you have imagined (hoped for). Hope gives you a future, while Faith delivers the picture you have seen.

The imagination of the ten spies was hijacked.

“And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.””

Numbers 13:32-33 NKJV

By their imagination, they said the land devours those who live there and yet in another breath, they said there are giants in the land. They even imagined how the inhabitants saw them as grasshoppers.

That imagination cost them forty extra years in the wilderness. Cast down all strange imagination. Do not let the devil rob you of strength.

Imagine breakthroughs, not breakdowns.

Imagine life and not death.

Imagine wealth and not poverty.

Do not let the enemy hijack your mind.
